HOW DOES THE UV SERIES’ WORK?
Short wave UV light (254 nanometers) destroys bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms by interfering with DNA and RNA in the organism’s reproduction cycle. No chemicals are added to the water.

IS ULTRAVIOLET SAFE?
Yes. UV is one of the four purification methods approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The other three are chlorine, iodine and ozone.

HAS THE UV SERIES’ BEEN TESTED?
Yes, by Truesdail Laboratories, an EPA approved independent testing laboratory using procedures and standards set by the U.S. Department of Health for ultraviolet sterilization. Testing protocol also complies with the standards set by the National Sanitation Foundation. At flow rates of 0.5, 0.75, 1.0 and 2 gallons per minute, the percent reduction of E. cult seeded water was greater than 99.999% compared to the control.

IS ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT TREATMENT AFFORDABLE?
Yes. The disposable UV SERIES TM purifier is easy to install and replace, and operates continuously over a 9 to 12 month period. To replace the module, simply disconnect the 1/4” tubing (inlet and outlet).

The UV SERIES TM purifier is comprised of a module and ballast (electrical current regulator). A UV lamp is hermetically sealed within the module in a clear hardened quartz tube which is supported within an injection molded housing comprised of inert, spin welded, UV resistant and FDA approved polypropylene. The unit is working when the end cap glows a bluish color.

For effective operation, the UV SERIES TM module should be replaced every
9 to 12 months, and most certainly when the end cap no longer glows. The ballast is virtually permanent. Many unique features have been built into the design of the UV SERIES TM. The 1/8” fpt opening is molded into the housing rather than mechanically tapped. Additionally, the molded threads have a special tapered starter thread for quick, correct insertion ot the fittings. This time-saving feature assures a leak resistant seal due to the deep grooves and perfect fit of the molded threads. Also available are quick-assembly 1/4” fe John Guest tube ends which are molded directly into the housing. These ends assure extremely quick assembly of the L SERIES” into systems because threading, taping or other labor intensive operations are eliminated. Installation is fast and leak resistant!

The spin welding process used ensures a uniform hermetic seal which improves overall reliability and increases burst pressure to well over 500 psi.

Ultraviolet Technology
After years of testing and refinement, a practical method of instantly purifying household drinking watcr is now available using germicidal ultraviolet light. Disinfection is achieved by exposing filtered water to LV light at a normal water flow rate.
